Privacy policy

In short: if you only download a PDF, we don't keep your bio-data. We store it only when you create a share link or join the founding families list, you can delete it any time, and we never sell it.
Who we are
SevenVows (www.mysevenvows.com) is a marriage bio-data maker run from India. For this policy, SevenVows is the “data fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can reach us at help@mysevenvows.com.
What we collect and why

We use this information only to make your bio-data, show your share link, and contact founding families when matchmaking opens for their community and city. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not show ads.
Your consent
We ask for your clear consent before storing anything: when you create a share link and when you join the founding families list. If you are making a bio-data for someone else, such as your son, daughter or sibling, please make sure they agree to it being shared. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your link or writing to us; this doesn’t affect what was done before you withdrew.
Services that help us run SevenVows
- Anthropic (Claude), USA: reads uploaded bio-data and writes or translates text. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Supabase, servers in Mumbai: stores share links and the founding families list.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Google Analytics: anonymous usage statistics, with IP anonymisation switched on.
- Cloudflare: domain name and email forwarding.
Some of these process data outside India. We only use providers that protect data under contract, and we will follow any restrictions the Government of India places on transfers to particular countries.
How long we keep data
- Share links: until you delete them. We may also remove links that haven’t been opened for 24 months.
- Founding families list: until you ask us to remove you, or 3 years after you joined, whichever is sooner.
- Security logs kept by our hosting provider: a short period, for preventing misuse.
When you delete a share link, the bio-data and photo are erased from our database straight away.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to erase it, or delete a share link yourself using its private delete link;
- withdraw consent;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to; and
- raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, the database is locked so only our server can read it, share links use long random addresses, and share pages are hidden from search engines. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting you ever happens, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires. Please remember that anyone you send a share link or PDF to can forward it.
Age
SevenVows is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and bio-data should only be made for people of legal marriageable age in India (18 for women, 21 for men).

Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it. See also our terms of use.
